Apple and RIM couldn't have had more different weeks. While one was celebrating record pre-order sales of its new handset, the other was left apologising for a three-day global data outage. No surprise, then, that a lot of BB users have had enough.
Some analysts are predicting opening weekend iPhone 4S sales will hit 3 million, but it's not clear if their calculations were made before BlackBerry users suffered three days of disruptions to their email, BBM and web service.
Because if they were, that number could end up being even higher.
Shopping comparison site Kelkoo spoke to thousands of mobile users this week, and among the 1,075 existing BlackBerry users surveyed, 19 per cent are actively looking at other manufacturers as a result of this week's difficulties, and with Apple dominating the headlines with the launch of the iPhone 4S, the latest iOS handset will be hard to ignore.

And even discounting that 19 per cent, a further 42 per cent of respondents said they'd be seriously considering dropping BlackBerry in the future.
In fact, with the launch of the new iPhone, the string of high-profile Android handsets that are emerging right now and the arrival of the long-awaited Windows Phone 7.5 Mango update, it's hard to imagine how the timing could be any worse for RIM.best iPhone 4s case
